Griffin #2 Luqman Barcoo signs with the San Diego State University Aztecs.

Luqman Barcoo is a sophomore Griffin out of Chula Vista, California. He attended Castle Park High, and stands 6'1" at 170 lbs. This year in football, Barcoo played wide receiver and defensive back.

"Barcoo is a dynamic player with great speed and leaping ability that can play wide receiver or defensive back," states head coach Michael Jordan.

Barcoo competed in 10 games during the 2017-18 season, scoring 43 points for the Griffins and accumulating over 750 yards (79.3 per game) in his career at Grossmont College. He had a single interception as well.

"Luqman has big play potential and I believe his versatility will allow him to make an impact with San Diego State as he can contribute on offense, defense, and special teams," comments Associate Dean of Athletics Thomas Armstrong.

Barcoo will attend San Diego State University in fall 2018 on a full ride scholarship. Luqman currently has a 2.9 G.P.A and will graduate with an AA degree this spring.  Congratulations to Luqman Barcoo!
