Men's and women's basketball both defeat Imperial Valley College in one night.

Friday, February 15 saw Grossmont College men's and women's basketball playing a double header versus Imperial Valley College. The Griffins and the Arabs compete within the Pacific Coast Conference, with Grossmont scoring the win in both games.

The women played first at 5:00 p.m. They defeated IVC 71-61.

GC's Chiara Mattern sank 11-17 field goals, eight of which were three-pointers. She went 7-7 in free-throws also versus IVC. Satori Roberson finished the game with 11 rebounds and ten points for the Griffins.

The GC men's game began at 7:00 p.m. and finished with the win 73-59.

Lamon Hudson went 6-7 in field-goals, 2-2 three-pointers and 3-6 free-throws, scoring 17 points total. Josh Burton scored 15 points and totaled 8 defensive rebounds.

About the win versus IVC men's head coach Doug Weber states, "We pitched it ahead and sunk some baskets. Great job fellas."

Both the men and women remain with one game left in the season, Wednesday, February 20 against Southwestern College. The women play at 5:00 p.m. and the men at 7:00 p.m. This is the last conference game also.
